This project began with many initial discussions between Ian and Lewis which in the end led to us winning through a bidding process to supply and install 12 x 5 Metre Rooted Columns along a footpath in Overton Park. Both parties shared their views on the best solution for Sutton Council’s needs and many lighting designs were exchanged and configured to the finest detail in order to find the right design.

Lewis also completed a site visit to meet Ian and walk through the design he created to ensure the council knew the plan for the installation. The installation took place in December and we spoke with Ian about the lighting design to see if anything needed changing. We walked the path multiple times using a measuring wheel to ensure the customer and ourselves were happy with the positions of the columns. Most of the columns were placed at an equal distance however due to trees we did have to adapt the design.

Over the two days, we had the pleasure of meeting local residents walking through the park and dropping kids off to nursery/school. It was lovely to hear some of the positive feedback before they had even seen the lights. The one piece of feedback we received which stuck with us was a lovely lady saying “Thank you very much, we feel safer already”.
